Privacy Policy

Liquid Lens ("the App", "we", "us") is an iOS camera app developed by Sydney Brynjulfson. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects and how it's used. The short version: the App is built to work entirely on your device, and it does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

Information we do not collect

Liquid Lens does not have:

• User accounts, sign-in, or profiles
• Analytics or usage-tracking software of any kind
• Advertising or ad-tracking networks
• Crash- or error-reporting services that transmit data off your device
• Any server, backend, or cloud storage. The App makes no network requests at all

Camera, microphone, and photo library access

The App requests a small number of permissions, used only to provide its core functionality, and shown to you with the following system prompts:

• Camera: "Liquid Lens needs camera access to capture photos."
• Microphone: "Liquid Lens needs microphone access to record video with sound."
• Photo Library (Add Only): "Liquid Lens saves captured photos to your library."

The photo library permission is add-only. It lets the App save new photos and videos to your library, but does not let it browse or read your existing photos. When you use the App's "Edit" feature to apply effects to a photo you already have, it uses Apple's system photo picker, which runs outside the App and never shares your photo library with it. Only the single image you choose is handed to the App.

Your photos and videos

All effects are rendered on-device using Apple's Metal graphics framework. Your photos and videos are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party. They leave your device only when you choose to save them to your Photos library or share them yourself using the iOS share sheet.

Children's privacy

Liquid Lens is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age, because the App does not collect personal information at all.

Data retention and deletion

Because we don't collect or store any data on our end, there is nothing for us to retain, and nothing for us to delete. Any photos or videos you create with the App live only on your own device (and anywhere you personally choose to save or share them).

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised effective date above.
